Our fleet of Bell 204 & 214B 'heavy-lifter' helicopters, with the capability of carrying loads of up to 3000 kg's on the hook, have proven themselves to be the right combination as excellent lifting machines and have been well utilized in construction work, particularly in in-accessible and environmentally sensitive areas.  Helicopters are equipped for all aspects of lifting tasks with long line capability of up to 100 metres.  Lightweight aluminium concrete kipples with a capacity of 1.0 m3 (2440 kg) allow for quick and cost effective concrete placement to remote sites.  We supply all ground personnel/riggers as well as a full range of nets, strops and lifting slings for all jobs.

McDermott Aviation Helicopters have been involved in many and varied specialist lifting/construction and precise placement tasks including:

  • All materials for Blue Mountains 'Skyway' approximately 700m3 concrete and 400 tonnes of material all carried in on 150ft long line.
  • Spa's, air-conditioning units and escalators to high-rise and inaccessible building sites.
  • Construction material for remote and environmentally sensitive sites, pipes and materials for dredging operation, machinery, excavators, bobcats, concrete towers and power-poles.  We are the only Australian owned and operated company able to offer six 'Heavy-lift' Helicopters, with load capacity to 3000kgs!
